“When I was 7 I had four girlfriends, Maryanne, Linda, Sandra and Joyce. We lived on the same street in New York.  We played games. Due to our uneven numbers and the fact that Joyce was fat, often she wasn’t picked to be on a team and would cry. I loved Joyce and hated that this was stacking up to be some life’s lesson about fairness.

At dinner I’d mope. My father would say “Toby, you’re not the world’s mother.”

I instructed Joyce to observe while waiting on the sideline. That way she could pick up the best technique from all of us. Eventually no matter what the game, Joyce won.

Then I grew up into exactly what my father said I wasn’t.

“I have spent a number of years of my working life in the human services area, a lot of which has been in the corporate world. Approximately five years ago, I knew I had done my time in the corporate life and realised it was time to work more fully with people to help them explore and establish what they would like to achieve in their lives.

In order to become qualified to do this I undertook a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling. I have been counselling in relationship, grief, family, adolescent and personal coaching/counselling and enjoy each one of those areas as I believe each client is unique. My greatest reward in all of this is being able to support my clients to achieve their goals in life whatever they may be.

When I am not coaching/counselling I have found great peace, relaxation and pleasure in playing golf, reading, yoga, my lovely partner and my family.”
